Pixel randomization and/or apodization masks

One of the novel concepts to be utilized in the project was supposed to be the cancellation of spurious diffractive orders in far-field holographic display mode. One of the solutions is to apodize the SLM’s pixels in order to tailor the “sinc envelope” attenuating the chosen orders. The finding of the direct relation between the shape of the mask with the response of the envelope was a big success. After that first simulations followed with the perfect resemblance with the theory.
